The service, part of the UAE's national railway operated by Etihad Rail, connects Khalifa Port to Fujairah Terminals via a dedicated shuttle train. The service is designed to carry up to 156 TEUs in each direction, with weekly departures.
This addition provides customers with an alternative to road transport for large-scale cargo movements. The rail option offers reliability and consistency, particularly over medium and long distances, without being impacted by road traffic, tolls, or restrictions. The service can also integrate first and last-mile trucking where needed, offering end-to-end connectivity.
Noatum Logistics noted that the service has the potential for scalability, with the option to increase frequency based on market demand, and plans to expand its rail operations across other parts of the region.
