The decision targets port to hinterland transport, with a focus on modular and integrated service offerings.

evb Logistik, together with its intermodal subsidiary Necoss, is restructuring its rail freight activities into three core segments: shunting, traction and operations.

Under the new structure, customers can procure individual services or complete transport chains from a single provider, ranging from initial shunting movements to operational control of container shuttle and project trains. The company states that the reorganisation is intended to provide clearer responsibilities and scalable service modules along the value chain.

The shunting segment covers services for third parties and in-house operations, particularly in the North German seaports of Hamburg, Bremerhaven and Wilhelmshaven, where evb Logistik maintains its own locations. The traction segment comprises nationwide locomotive services for block and regular trains, with a geographic focus on the hinterland of the German North Sea ports and commodity segments including intermodal, road-rail transport, bulk goods and construction materials.

The operations segment is managed primarily by Necoss and includes the planning and operation of container shuttle trains and project traffic. evb Logistik and Necoss present the realignment under the motto connecting ports with passion, emphasising growth along European freight corridors between seaports and inland regions.
