RCG is planning to introduce additional variants, including a MOBILER silo and the Hammrocktainer, for which testing is scheduled in 2025.

ÖBB Rail Cargo Group (RCG) has reached a 2,000-unit total of its MOBILER container system. Introduced in 2002 as a pilot program, this container solution involves a hydraulic lifting device that enables direct transfers between trucks and wagons without cranes or dedicated rail connections. It is used to streamline freight operations by supporting a combination of road and rail services.

The MOBILER platform has drawn industry partners who have applied it to various logistics needs. Logistik Service, a subsidiary of the voestalpine group, adapted the MOBILER to handle steel mill dust, achieving volumes of up to 65,000 tonnes per year.

Over time, the range of containers has broadened, now including multitainers and bulk containers.
