Innoduler Rail has manufactured its 1,000th InnoBogie frame, one year after the bogie was introduced by Innofreight Group.
The InnoBogie has been used on 80-foot InnoWaggons since July 2, 2025, when the first wagon left the InnoWay Trieste factory. According to Innofreight, the bogie was developed from concept to production-ready design in 22 months.
The bogie uses a lightweight construction that provides an additional payload of 250 kg per bogie, or 500 kg per four-axle wagon. Innofreight says this payload difference is attracting demand from the steel industry, where wagon payload is a central operating factor.
Innoduler Rail supplies the steel and welding expertise for the bogie frames. The company has produced enough frames to equip 500 wagons within 12 months, with final assembly taking place at the Trieste site.
Innoduler Rail is also supporting the further development of the wagon factory in Trieste and the training of Italian skilled workers. Production continues at the Slovenian site.
A dedicated welding robot line is planned for Trieste by the end of the year. The line will allow production of up to 3,000 InnoBogies per year.
After the 80-foot InnoWaggon, the InnoBogie will be introduced on other InnoWaggon types produced by InnoWay Trieste. The first version is for standard-gauge operation, with further variants planned for Finland, Spain and Portugal.
The InnoBogie is UIC-compatible and uses a modular bogie frame designed for common European track gauges.
